AIRPORT TRANSFERS

Metered taxis are available from the airport, the taxi stand is on the ground floor outside of the gate. The passengers will need to pay an additional 50 Baht (Airport charge) on top of the meter and toll fee.  Total taxi fee and toll fee from the airport to the city center should be around 300-350 Baht up to traffic condition.

Airport Rail Link is another alternative public transport for the Suvarnabhumi International Airport to the city center. The ARL connects with BTS at Phaya Thai Station and with the MRT at Makassan Station

As for local transportation, there are many transportation means to get you around the city that will make any trip convenient and enjoyable.


BTS

BTS Skytrain – The BTS skytrain runs from 06:00-midnight and the fare is based on distance travelled. Normal tickets are valid for 90 minutes and can be bought from any BTS Station Ticket Office. There are various tickets and passes that can be purchased which give discounts on the normal fare. BTS interchange with ARL at Phaya Thai Station.

The MRT underground runs from 06:00-midnight, serving the centre of Bangkok. The fare is based on distance travelled. Trains run every 5 minutes during peak hours and every seven minutes the rest of the time. MRT interchange with BTS at Sukhumvit Station and Silom Station.

Airport Rail Link

Airport Rail Link connects Suvarnabhumi Airport with downtown Bangkok. The ARL connects with BTS at Phaya Thai Station, while the station ARL Makassan Station is just walking distance from the MRT. Approximate travelling time from the airport to center of the town, Phaya Thai Station, is 30 minutes.  The train runs every 15 minutes. The train service runs from 06.00 to midnight.

Metered taxis are easy to find in Bangkok, the meter will starts at 35 THB before any distance is travelled


Tuk- Tuk

The open-air three wheels or Tuk-Tuk is popular among foreigners for short trip around the city, although they are most of the time more expensive than taxi. Expect to pay 40 Baht and upwards for a short journey, unless you are a good bargainer.
